Barking & Dagenham CVS Equality & Diversity Training Programme

Barking & Dagenham CVS are offering a series of FREE training sessions and workshops for staff and trustees around equality and diversity.

Tools for Equality and Diversity – Training
Date: 25th February 2010
Time: 9:30am – 1:30pm (Lunch will be provided)
Venue: Starting Point
Duration: ½ day

This session will equip trustees and staff with the basic and necessary tools to monitor, assess and manage equality and diversity issues in the workplace. It will cover equality impact assessments, equality audits and community cohesion impact assessment.

Ideas for Diversifying Board of Trustees (Workshop)
Date: 9th March 2010
Time: 1:00pm – 5:00pm (Lunch will be provided)
Venue: BDCVS, JR Room
Duration: ½ day
To achieve a more inclusive Board that reflects the local community this workshop will cover elements of effective trustee recruitment and induction.

Management in the 3rd Sector for Office Staff (2-day course)
Date: 16 and 23 April 2010
Time: TBC
Venue: TBC
Duration: 2 day Course

This course will provide support to staff members representing minority statuses, i.e. women, disabled, ethnic minority and young, who are looking for promotion to management level. The course will include: good management practice, management versus leadership, coaching and feedback skills, time management skills, delegation skills, building effective team skills and managing performance and conflict management.
