The Creative Collective - Event
Recognition aims to improve the uptake of existing learning and qualification programmes and to develop new opportunities for experienced community development practitioners.
They will be hosting an event at Birkbeck College on February 12th 2010, which will provide information, advice and guidance to community development workers and their employers.
The event will:
Increase the awareness of current and potential CDW practitioners and employers of the range of CDW learning and qualification programmes available;
Provide IAG to current and potential CDW practitioners on the relevance of particular learning and qualification programmes to meet their needs to gain work, or achieve higher level qualifications in their chosen vocation;
Provide employers in all sectors (statutory, voluntary and community, and private) with information to aid their workforce learning strategies;
Act as a national pilot which could inform projects in other regions within England; and to link with the IAG national group hosted through Advice UK;
Promote progression from level 3 onto level 4; enabling people to use their CDW experience to move onto a wide range of courses.
