City of London Corporation offers free business advice for charities

By Kaye Wiggins, Third Sector Online, 8 September 2009
Business health checks and recession recovery services available

Two new projects will provide London-based charities with free advice and business support to help them through the recession.
The City of London Corporation has invested £105,000 in the projects, which it hopes will help small and medium-sized organisations, charities and businesses survive the economic downturn and plan for growth.

The schemes will provide free one-to-one ‘business health checks' and ‘recovery services' to about 400 organisations based in Camden, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Newham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets.

The services on offer include helping to identify sources of funding and planning for increased revenue streams in the economic upturn.

A spokeswoman for the City of London Corporation said the projects had been opened for applications. She said the support given to charities would last for 12 months.

More information is available on the City of London Corporation website.
