Launch of 'Premises for the VCS in London Current issues'
A FREE event to share the latest round of research into the premises needs of the VCS in London.

Report recommendations:
The report is the latest look (research was also undertaken in 2007 and 2009) at how the premises needs of voluntary and community organisations in London are being addressed, and the support available to them. The report makes a series of important recommendations aimed at central and local government, funders and others to address urgent issues related to strategic planning, communications and improvements in premises provision and management.
Who should attend:
- Any civil society organisation who has an interest in premises issues, including representatives from the voluntary and community sector, social enterprises, charities, community based organisations, etc
- Statutory sector representatives with a remit to support the VCS and their accommodation needs, including local authority officers from property, valuation and asset management, strategy, planning, finance, regeneration, policy, community development and partnerships, etc
- Funders, councils for voluntary services, advisors and supporters of the VCS in relation to their premises needs, etc
Outline agenda for the day:
- 9.30 -10.00am Registration, tea and coffee available
- 10.00 – 10.10am Introduction by Caroline Rouse from Aston-Mansfield, London Premises Sub-group Chair
- 10.10 – 10.45am Premises for the VCS in London: Current issues and findings from the latest round of research, Lorraine Hart, (Community Land Use)
- 10.45 – 11.45am Local Authority & VCS perspective to the research and Facilitated discussion
- 11.45 – 12.00pm Tea and coffee break
- 12.00 – 1.00pm Table discussion exploring the recommendations from the research and how to take forward priority issues
- 1.00 – 1.15pm Closing remarks by the Chair
- 1.15 – 2.15pm Lunch and networking, and optional tour of the Abbey Centre at 2pm
