Equality and diversity
We live in a multicultural and diverse society in east London. As a Network we are keen to challenge prejudice and discrimination and this is evident in our Anti Discrimination Charter (please see below for further information).
This Charter has been produced in order to clearly demonstrate the anti discriminatory approach and ethos adopted and exemplified by member CVS’ in the east London sub region. The beliefs and values that the Charter expresses are important to uphold and we hope that our members will show their support through displaying and publicizing the Charter to their respective members. We encourage our members to adopt the Charter and improve awareness regarding working within a positive anti discrimination culture and its’ associated practices.

We believe that all individuals should be afforded equality of opportunity in the services and provisions that they choose to access and that equality and diversity should be upheld and celebrated.
Whilst Equality legislation has done much to challenge prejudice and discrimination, we believe there are still significant gaps in equality of services for individuals and the communities they belong to.
As a direct result, here at the East London CVS Network we aim to foster and develop partnerships with specialist Equalities organizations and Networks in order to improve understanding and learn from and share best practice.
