Encouraging Diversity in the voluntary and community sector
BAME Policy and Voice
Black Neighbourhood Renewal and Regeneration Network (BNRRN) supports BAMER
organisations to engage in the neighbourhood renewal and regeneration process
by engaging with the key decision making bodies.
BNRRN is working towards setting up a regional BAME policy network. The
network will include representation from the five sub-regions: East, Central,
North, South and West London as well as other identified local and regional BAME
organisations.
The network will enable black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) grassroots
organisations a voice to raise the challenges faced by their communities and
a forum that will support their engagement in local, sub-regional and regional
decision making processes.
The regional BAME policy network will aim to:
- Promote policy engagement of BAME communities at all levels
- Share information on policy initiatives and coordinate responses to policy consultations at local and regional level
- Translate grass roots needs into policy
- Highlight the challenges (and solutions) for BAME organisations engaging with local decision makers
